China’s REX G1 wheeled humanoid has 22 degrees of freedom, 360-degree vision, and batteries replaceable in five seconds.

RoboScience, a Beijing-based embodied intelligence company, has introduced its first robot, the REX G1, for use across logistics, manufacturing, retail and domestic environments.
Released on August 17, the wheeled humanoid combines movement and manipulation with RoboScience’s Visics model.
The company has designed it to understand instructions, plan actions and execute complete tasks in unstructured and changing environments, rather than remain confined to a fixed workstation or a single process.
Moving and handling objects at the same time
The REX G1 has 22 degrees of freedom: two in its head and neck, seven in each arm, two in its waist, one lifting axis and three in its wheeled chassis. Its two arms can carry a combined load of 22 pounds (10 kg).
Unlike fixed industrial arms, the robot can travel between work areas. It can also perform what RoboScience describes as “walking, lifting, and grasping at the same time.”
The chassis, adjustable lifting mechanism and two arms work together while the robot is moving. Zero-space control is designed to keep its end effectors stable in confined areas, reducing the need to stop, reposition, and restart between actions.
For tasks requiring greater precision, the REX G1 offers repeatability of ±0.1 mm. Its vision system can also verify storage-location codes after grasping an item, supporting repeated picking and placement operations.
Designed to enter existing workplaces
Many warehouse robots require changes such as wider aisles, additional turning space, or adjusted shelving. RoboScience designed the REX G1 around a different approach: allowing the machine to fit into existing facilities.
The robot measures 540 mm wide, while its length can be adjusted from 540 to 640 mm. Its height ranges from 1,100 to 1,700 mm, and it can work at levels between 0.1 and 2 meters.
The REX G1 uses 360-degree stereo vision to perceive its surroundings. Adaptive lighting helps it work around deep cabinets, reflective shelving, packaging films and low-light environments without requiring additional light sources.
A matte exterior, rounded edges and an e-ink information screen are intended for situations in which the robot operates close to people. Quick-release access points allow components to be reached without dismantling the entire machine.
Visics model closes the loop
At the center of the REX G1 is Visics, RoboScience’s general embodied model based on a Vision-Language-Object-Action, or VLOA, architecture.
The system connects visual information and language commands with physical actions. RoboScience says its embodied world model interprets the physical environment and simulates the three-dimensional trajectories of objects.
A separate operation model then translates those trajectories into control signals for the robot.
With 2,070 TFLOPS of onboard computing power, the REX G1 processes perception, decision-making, and control at the edge. This reduces its dependence on frequent cloud communication and allows it to adjust its movements when conditions change.
The robot can operate for up to four hours on one charge. Its hot-swappable battery can be replaced without shutting it down, with work resuming in as little as five seconds.
RoboScience is positioning the machine as a “next-generation embodied intelligent productivity partner” capable of participating in continuous workflows.
Its intended applications range from warehouse handling and flexible manufacturing to retail fulfillment and future home services.
